No contest today, which means tomorrow is a go for the 2010 Turbo Bodyboards Pipe Pro. Conditions dramatically improved overnight, with the winds clocking around to more Easterly trades. Everyone has been looking at Friday since the beginning of the week, and the forecast is outstanding: large, long-period NW swell with East winds. If it’s as epic as the models predict, it’ll be worth every penny of the entry fee.

The Turbo Bodyboards Pipe Pro is OFF for today. After a meeting of the minds, and a very promising Friday forecast, they decision was made to forgo today’s large, but Northerly swell. Honestly, if there aren’t 30 guys clamoring to get a few in the pre-contest hours (the lineup was empty), then that should be all the indication you need.

The Waimea buoy model is looking very, very promising.

I’ve been fiddling around with integrating wave models into Buoy Alarm, and have a working proof-of-concept (Waimea buoy model above). Pretty excited about it, although looking into the future kinda feels like cheating. And for you Facebook peoples, we’re posting model reviews on the Buoy Alarm Facebook page.

Seeing how no one on Oahu processes slide film anymore (please correct me if I’m wrong), it took a bit of time to get these Fujichrome shots back from the Eddie. I could stare at the negatives all day long, the color is insane.

In case you haven’t seen footage of it, and this angle is one of the best, here’s Ramon’s Monster Drop winning wave from the Eddie. Strong contender for Ride of the Year and Monster Paddle awards in the Billabong XXL as well.
