Got caught up in Avedon and Adams during my SFMOMA trip, but was equally impressed with Robert Frank’s Americans exhibit, which had prints of each photo contained in the 1958 book, as well as contact sheets, work prints, and a letter from Frank to Jack Kerouac explaining that he needed to write a longer preface (which was rejected and excluded from the first edition).
