Software is easy to build and distribute. It’s easy to simply give it to someone and hope they figure it out and possess enough reason to use it well. But this type of software will eventually die out, replaced with software that teaches you how to get better at the activity for which it is designed.

I’ve been fiddling around with integrating wave models into Buoy Alarm, and have a working proof-of-concept (Waimea buoy model above). Pretty excited about it, although looking into the future kinda feels like cheating. And for you Facebook peoples, we’re posting model reviews on the Buoy Alarm Facebook page.

Stay tuned to the Kauai Buoy (@buoy51001) to monitor how and when the swell starts to fill in.

I don’t know what it is about town swells, but they just can’t seem to live up to the hype. Seriously, we got skunked by Felicia. Even tried twice to dawn patrol, only to be completely and utterly disappointed. Wait, wasn’t there a children’s story about this…?

Pretty much tells the tail.  We’ll see how things work out early a.m., looking pretty organized though.
